Café Ursula is a popular living room for locals and tourists in Kaivopuisto. The restaurant’s planned renovation will begin in September 2026; until then, we will continue to serve our customers as usual. The restaurant will be open until August 26, 2026. We will reopen our renovated premises in spring/summer 2027.
A peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city is possible right next to the city centre. We offer a wide selection of savoury and sweet treats, a delicious homemade lunch, and a variety of coffees and teas. We favour sustainability, organic products, and locally produced ingredients. Ursula’s food does good.
Founded in 1952, Café Ursula has always directed its proceeds to charity. We continue to do so today, with the proceeds being channelled to those in need through the activities of our owner organisations. Ursula does good.
Ursula Renewal Project 2026–2027
Café Ursula was built as a summer café in the Olympic year 1952. Over time, the building’s technical condition has deteriorated, and after multiple expansions throughout the years, renovating the restaurant to meet the needs of modern operations and growing customer volumes is no longer feasible in a cost-effective way. Therefore, the current restaurant building will be replaced with a new one.
According to current plans, Café Ursula will close in autumn 2026 and will continue to serve customers normally until then. The new building is expected to be completed in spring 2027.
